New York City, NY — The B. Robert Williamson Jr. Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of their new website. The site is intended to serve as a comprehensive resource for potential partners and to document ongoing community enrichment projects supported by the foundation.

The website, located at www.brwjrfoundation.org, includes details about the foundation’s mission to memorialize Williamson’s vitality, curiosity and generosity through financial support in the form of charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations that primarily focus on the education and empowerment of young people. Established with a lead gift by Chilton Investment Company founder Richard L. Chilton Jr. and his wife, Maureen, the foundation is an ongoing legacy to the memory of the friend and colleague who died tragically in April.

One of the primary roles of the website will be to build relationships with potential grantees as the foundation begins its initial mission of finding organizations with whom to partner.

“We think this site will be the home base for the community we’re hoping to build,” Caroline Williamson said. “Contributors, grantees, trustees, support staff—the web site is a place to see everything going on with the foundation’s different aspects. And it’s such an easy way for people to connect and stay in touch.”

Those interested in donating to the foundation can use the “How You Can Help” section of the website, choosing the area or partnership with the foundation they would most like to support. A general option is available as well, which allows donors to choose for their gift to be allocated wherever it is most needed.

The site also features a collection of photos of the late money manager, providing a wonderfully vivid look at Robert’s life. From his years playing basketball for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to the vacations and celebrations spent with family, the gallery gives viewers a sense of the warmth with which he lived.

Williamson, a resident of Manhattan, was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He attended the Ravenscroft School in Raleigh before earning his degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Upon receiving his MBA from the Wake Forest School of Business, Williamson joined Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette as a stockbroker. He went on to work at Tiger Management before co-founding his own hedge fund, Williamson McAree Investments, and, in January 2011, joining Chilton Investment Company, where he was serving as the managing director at the time of his death.

In order to preserve the memory and generous spirit of Benjamin Robert Williamson Jr., the family and friends of the late money manager have come together to create the B. Robert Williamson Jr. Foundation.

The foundation was established with a lead gift by Chilton Investment Company founder Richard L. Chilton Jr. and his wife, Maureen, in memory of Robert, a close friend and colleague who died tragically in April.

The foundation seeks to provide financial support in the form of charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations that primarily focus on the education and empowerment of young people.

“We think this will be the perfect legacy for Robert,” Caroline Williamson said. “My husband would be very happy to know that we’re providing opportunities for so many young people.”

The board of trustees is made up of family friends and business partners of the Williamson family, who are all directly involved in the grant making process and are dedicated to assisting underserved, vulnerable populations. With a commitment to data-based and outcome-driven decision making, the foundation operates with a belief in the importance of open and transparent communication with grantees.

Interested parties can make donations to the foundation on the newly launched website, www.brwjrfoundation.org.
